A Field Guide to Breath
Every treatment room at Soulé keeps slower time, and the metronome is breath. Our therapists pace their strokes to it. The music sits beneath it. Even the lighting is tuned so nothing asks your eyes — and therefore your breath — to hurry.
Here is the pattern we return to, on the table and off it. Breathe in through the nose for four counts. Hold, gently, for four. Then let the exhale take six — longer out than in, always. The long exhale is the body's own signal that the watch has ended and the rest can begin.
Try it now, once, before you read on. That small drop you feel in the shoulders is the same mechanism a ninety-minute aromatherapy massage works on — we simply give it warmth, skill, and time.
When guests ask what to do between visits, this is our honest answer. The sea keeps this rhythm. The canopy keeps it. You kept it once too, and it keeps very well.
Return to your nature.
